Northern Science
Northern Stories
The All Paths Lead North network brings together perspectives and voices from different knowledge traditions, continents and communities to tackle common challenges in the earth's most northerly communities and environments.

We share the knowledge and experience of scientists and storytellers, community leaders and knowledge holders, performers and activists, researchers and practitioners, and many others who seek to protect northern, Arctic and remote communities and environments.

The threats of climate change, biodiversity loss, cultural erasure and colonial legacy are issues for all of the planet's citizens but they are felt keenly in the world's more northerly reaches. Just as we recognise that all Northern peoples are threatened by these risks, so we recognise that all of them must be involved in finding lasting solutions.

We are seeking radical synchronicities; opportunities to connect different types of knowledge in order to gain both a deeper understanding of our shared challenges but also a richer appreciation of the tools we need to build solutions.

The All Paths Lead North network is supported in part by funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council. We are also grateful for the support of the Scottish Government's Arctic Connections Fund. The network is anchored at Trent University in Canada and the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. Logistical and communications support is provided by Research and Impact Ltd.
